Sounds like their not reaching their revenue goals from DUI infractions.

Exactly.

How many people are killed by driving with a BAC between 0.05 and 0.08? I'm going to go out on a limb and say almost none ... certainly a statistically insignificant amount.

It's all about money and elections. Hell, a couple of years ago the national sheriffs' association came out against self-driving cars because they knew they'd loose a frick-ton of revenue - revenue that the taxpayers didn't vote for them.


FTR - I have never received a DWI.
