How do injuries work in soocer? If a guy goes on the I/R, do they bring up another player from the minors, like baseball? Or do they have free agency?

You're allowed a certain number of substitutes on the bench per game (around 6 or 7 guys).

You can drop or add guys as you wish. No IR specifics as in other sports.

So "the minors" is just the club's academy's players (U-23, U-21 teams) that can be called up at will. And free-agents can be bought and played whenever as well.

You can only buy players from other teams during specific windows.

Dang, I got a downvote for that question? Someone must be afraid of new fans coming into the soccer world!

This, unfortunately, is a thing.
