You make good points with undisputed facts.

For Orgeron, it would take bringing in an OC like Art Briles who is an offensive genius to counter the genius of Saban.

Briles has a college football scarlet letter (Baylor rape scandal to which Briles was the fall-guy and patsy) sewn to his chest and is now coaching pro football in Italy and is virtually unhirable in Canada or the USA. The political correctness dominating academia would never let this happen. Briles won a conference championship at Houston (CUSA) and two at Baylor (Big 12) and rocked the college football world. The last time Baylor won anything was back in the 1950s. He knows how to bring a cellar dweller up to contender to championship winner. He knows how to develop and recruit QBs...see RG3.

But, to hire Briles, not only would you have to overcome LSU Administraion and PC Academia, but Orgeron would have to give total control of the offense to Briles as OC. I don't think it's in Orgeron's character to do that or that he is capable of putting LSU ahead of his ego to that monumental extent.


Briles is a championship winner, three times proven...that is what you do to counter Saban and turn our program around to being a top 5 program where we can put a wall around LA and pull in top National talent. But, the powers that be will not let it happen regrettably.
