I'm sure this isn't it, but the article just makes it seem like it was taking longer to recover than normal.
Just seems odd. If I got Lasik and was having major pain issues, I'm assuming I'd be visiting all kinds of doctors to try and figure shite out. Not saying she didn't do that, but the article doesn't really make mention of that.
