Am I the only one that can't get into The Name of the Wind? I'm about 300 pages in and bored as shite.

I recently finished The Way of Kings and it was 10x better imo.

No, you are definitely not alone, though I think it's a solid book overall. I caught some grief in a thread on here a while back for saying it wasn't close to being one of the top 5-10 books of the past 10-15 years.

The prose is fantastic, but the story and characters are pretty run of the mill. And Wise Man's Fear is garbage.

And yeah, The Way of Kings is tremendously better.

The Name of the Wind and A Wise Man's Fear are much better, in my opinion, in audio book form. I couldn't really get into Name of the Wind on the kindle either, but once I got the audio book I couldn't "put it down".
