Been there, done that.
If she still hasn't been excused with what you sent in, she has to go, but on the first day they will ask people if they have any reason or hardship which would prevent them from serving. She then will have to talk to the person asking and tell them the issue, and she'll probably be excused.
One time I had to talk to the judge as he was questioning potential jurors; as soon as he found out my kids' ages, he said "You're excused".
ETA: This was 19th Judicial District Court (Baton Rouge)
