Wrong!!

Miles was let go because he produced championship seasons early on then was headed in the wrong direction later. It should be the opposite direction. This staff is headed upward, at a snails pace, but still trajectory is positive. If we lose this bowl game then no raise should be given. Maybe another year extension but zero raise.

If he wins this bowl game then I think they should give him something small until he takes the program further next year. If he goes 11-1 next year, beats bama, or plays a very good game with bama then he should get a nice raise but still nothing crazy. Those huge raises with crazy buyouts are dumb IMO.

This can make a coach too comfortable in his position and nothing can really be done for 3 or 4 years if they start to make mistakes.

First, LSU is not close to beating Alabama and will never do so with Orgeron having E as his OC. LSU has yet to score with E as OC.

Second, Miles’ teams were playing Alabama close and people were screaming for him to be fired because he couldn’t beat them. Now playing the Elephants close is enough to warrant a raise!? Seriously? This is what you call lowered expectations.

Nah.

Mile was fired because, as Dick Satans coaches left and Miles took more and more control over the program, offense and coaching staff, the results werent matching the recruiting. That and obvious and consistent problems that were never addressed. Pretty much all on the offensive side of the ball.

He doesn't need a raise, he'll get a damn bonus for winning that bowl game. He would have gotten 100,000 bonus for 10 wins in regular season. No damn extension either just for winning the bowl game.
