Just frick the regular season
This is what some nebulous playoff selection gets you.
"4 best teams" - what the frick does that mean? Shite people can't even all agree that Jordan was the best basketball player of all-time and he had a 25 year Nike marketing head start on LeBron and Kobe.
How the frick in one season are a bunch of boobs going to decide "the 4 best teams" based on an 11 game schedule, in disparate conferences and some schools getting the benefit of big name and what did you do last year.
It should have been taken out of a Committee's hand from Day 1.
You take the P5 Conference winners period...all of them...lets decide it on the field.
And one-at-large.

The problem with the whole “4 best teams” argument is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to know for certain who the best teams are. It’s, by definition, impossible.
It sounds good and perfect and all in theory, but it’s like asking someone what the best color is: there is no right answer because it’s all in the eye of the beholder.
“4 best teams” does not exist so it’s pointless to be the foundation for anyone’s selection process. It’s why the college football process for crowning a champion has changed 432 times, there IS NO RIGHT ANSWER as you are trying to accomplish an impossible task.
