Games of importance left

Bama vs UGA
Clemson vs Pitt
OSU vs Northwestern

Note: UCF will be listed as the non group of 5 team, but if they lose today that team could be Boise or Fresno St.

Note: I will list Texas as the Sugar Bowl team in some scenarios, but it may be WVU.

IF ALL FAVORITES WIN

Playoff: Bama, Clemson, ND, OU
Sugar: Texas vs UGA
Rose: OSU vs Washington
Fiesta/Peach: Florida, Michigan, LSU, UCF

IF UGA UPSETS RULED OUT!!!!!

Playoffs: Clemson, ND, UGA, (Bama or OU)

if bama stays ahead of OU)

Sugar: OU vs UF
Rose: OSU vs Washington
Fiesta/Peach: Michigan, UCF, LSU, Penn State (maybe)

if OU jumps Bama)
Sugar: Bama vs Texas
Rose: OSU vs Washington
Fiesta/Peach: Michigan, UCF, UF, LSU

IF NW WINS:

Playoff: Bama, Clemson, ND, OU
Sugar: Texas vs UGA
Rose: NW vs Washington
Fiesta/Peach: OSU, Michigan, UCF, Florida

IF PITT WINS

Playoffs: Bama, ND, OU, OSU (or Clemson)

if OSU moves ahead of clemson
Playoffs: Bama, OU, ND, OSU
Sugar: Texas vs UGA
Rose: Michigan vs Washington
Fiesta/Peach: UF, UCF, Clemson, Pitt

if Clemson stays ahead of OSU)
Playoffs: Bama, ND, OU, Clemson
Sugar: Texas vs UGA
Rose: OSU vs Washington
Fiesta/Peach: UF, UCF, Michigan, Pitt

IF Uga and NW win RULED OUT!!!!!

Playoffs: Clemson, ND, UGA, OU (or Bama)
if OU is ahead of Bama)
Sugar: Bama vs Texas
Rose: NW vs Washington
Fiesta/Peach: UF, Michigan, OSU, UCF

if Bama stays ahead of OU
Sugar: Florida vs OU
Rose: NW vs Washington
Fiesta/Peach: Michigan, OSU, UCF, LSU

IF UGA AND PITT WIN RULED OUT!!!!!

Playoffs: ND, OU, UGA, Bama (going to assume Bama stays ahead of OSU and Clemson here)
Sugar: Texas vs UF
Rose: OSU vs Washington
Fiesta/Peach: Michigan, UCF, LSU, Clemson

(Even if OSU jumps Bama, Michigan would move to Rose and free that spot for LSU still being in)

IF NW and Pitt win
Playoffs: Bama, ND, OU, Clemson (or maybe UCF???)
Sugar: UGA vs Texas
Rose: NW vs Washington
Fiesta/Peach: UCF/Clemson, OSU, Michigan, Florida

IF ALL UNDERDOGS WIN RULED OUT!!!!!
Playoffs: ND, OU, UGA, Bama
Sugar: UF vs Texas
Rose: NW vs Washington
Fiesta/Peach: Michigan, OSU, Clemson, UCF

You spent all that time doing a what if post. In 2 hrs you’ll know the answers.

Well with the TX loss the "all underdogs" option is off the table. I guess that means LSU can't go to the Sugar now.

It looks like if Bama or OSU BOTH WIN or BOTH LOSE we are in a NY6 but if one wins and one loses we get bumped. Is that right?

Another question - OU has already won. If they go to the playoffs instead of OSU, would LSU get bumped from NY6?

I spent 10 minutes. And there have been countless threads started on this very topic, so I would say it's useful.

Not really. Some scenarios could come down to the playoff committees rankings.

No. This thread was made after the game. The all underdogs option only covers 3 games.

See the OP. I believe I covered all scenarios.

Sugar Bowl was off the table the minute we lost to aTm.

Look at the original post. That's all answered.

If Pitt wins, are they not guaranteed a spot in the NY6?

ACC does not have an auto bid this year due to CFP being the Orange Bowl. So no. Pitt can not get in.

I’m willing to bet that a Northwestern win over Ohio State bumps the Bucks below LSU. Committee has not been in favor of OSU this year. If they drop that far, LSU still in mix for a NY6 bowl.

Thanks, man. This is very helpful. Looks like the most trouble for us is caused if NW beats OSU at this point.

That's an interesting scenario. If UCF loses does that mean LSU is a lock for a NY6?

I would think so and it appears that will happen with UCF getting destroyed...

UCF will simply be replaced by another G5 team.

I don't know the selection rules. Is a G5 team guaranteed a spot? If that's the case who would get that spot if UCF loses?

Look at the very first note. UCF, Boise and Fresno are all interchangeable. One of them will get in, and the other two will not. The UCF game is meaningless, as far as LSU getting in is concerned.

UCF losing (or winning) doesn't help or hurt LSU's chances what so ever. The highest rated group of 5 champion gets in. If it's not UCF it will be some other scrub.
