If that were true, why let a small market team like the saints only have 2 losses?
Dumb is dumb.
You lost a game. Sack the frick up. Pussy.

I gotta admit...that was the first thing I thought about when the Saints won the Super Bowl right after Katrina
Had no clue we won it in 2006

How many more of yall are going to say the Saints won the super bowl right after Katrina?. For Christ sakes the Saints won the super bowl in Feb. Of 2010. Katrina happened August of 2005. That is nearly 5 years after Katrina occurred.

When compared to the earth’s age, 5 years is but a blip on the radar. Think bigger, my friend.

There is no formal script or "conspiracy," per se. There are narratives that cater to NFL interests which are largely driven by fake sports media, esp. ESPN who is contractually tied to the NFL hip.
Referee calls can be suspect, but not proven.
I do not think that players are involved in any script or throwing plays. Has it happened for money or other incentives? I'm sure it has, but not by some centrally driven conspiracy.
Good guys are promoted, ie Saints this year- Brees as hero on his way out with a stellar good guy legacy- the Captain America of the NFL. Saints post-Katrina story was definitely one of the main narrative storylines in 2009. "Scrappy underdog heroes helped their city recover and now their city/fans propel them to a Superbowl."
Bad guys are villified- Tom Brady and the Patriots any given year, usually through their sensationalized "scandals" which don't make any real difference on the playing field.
Saints have played the role of villain, a la Bountygate, in order to act as the foil in the League's legal negotiations concerning head injuries. A kernel of truth provided an overblown storyline and a scapegoat for the NFL's own legitimate complicity with covering up CTE issues.
So yes- there is an element of outright "scripting" but I don't think it is on the field so much as taking what happens on the field and creating a narrative to suit the NFL's interests - mostly creating drama, which equals entertainment, which equals millions in advertising revenue.
