Is Amite really just straight up Bama territory like people say on this board? This kinda blows my mind. In my head I imagine people riding around on elephants with Sweet Home Alabama playing at all times throughout the town.

I know there are outliers, and I commend these kids for not being followers, but should I expect the majority of big time recruits to go to Bama that are from the Amite area? Or is the Bama influence in this area a little far fetched by our fellow TD posters?

Maybe Saban talks like the people in Amite more than O does.

Do the people in Amite use words like "process" and "brook trout" like Saban?

No we are not I’m C/O 99 and just like majority of kids in Louisiana we all ate slept and breathe LSU football. We use to take pride in our purple in gold just because it was the same as LSU. My entire family played for AMITE in football the most outstanding was Kendrick Perry he was the running back for the championship team in early 2000s. I myself was a baseball stud so you can imagine how much I wanted to play for LSU back than but life hits you and things change I’m a huge successor now still. But back to OP this new breed of Amite talent is quite different when it comes to playing for LSU after around there freshman year in high school. They don’t just grow up not wanting to play for LSU it changes and I think they’re getting influenced by other means. Back in my days Amite was 3A and diversed and a powerhouse at football it’s def not like that anymore as far as diversity. Even though we didn’t get the exposure kids get now if you lived anywhere in Louisiana you knew about the Amite Warriors football team. As far as outsiders thinking this Bama Parish it’s def not true you will see an huge amount of Amite commitments coming in the next couple of years I GUARANTEE. A lot of ppl in these parts that root for Bama are not from Amite they’re from surrounding parishes. Because the old schoolers still live and die LSU football

And just FYI Davonte Smith LSU didn’t even offer him until late year Saban offer him he’s freshman. Also the hire of Sam Pettito has strong ties in this neck of the woods

One more thing lol people say Amite is known for wearing Bama gear. Like I posted earlier in my post LSU is not as diversed as it was before it’s a 1A school which means smaller school and close families were ppl support the kids no matter where they go. So those Bama hoodies and tee shirts you see they usually have the players name on them that’s who there supporting. How funny years ago no one cared about Amite and it’s talent pool all of a sudden now it’s at the forefront but even before this group Amite has always had football talent And several NFL PLAYERS

I have some family in Amite (all are big LSU fans) and until about 10 years ago, almost the entire town was pro LSU. I believe the shift occurred when a few things happened.
1. Saban was hired at Bama and was highly regarded during his time at LSU.
2. Some really good players from the Amite teams were not offered by LSU and that rubbed the younger generation the wrong way. Now they seem to have an axe to grind with LSU.
3. Saban hired Pettito who has deep ties in not just Amite, but the whole parish.
4. Those former players I mentioned have jumped on the bandwagon and root for Bama which has trickled down to the younger guys.
5. The most talked about is fat arse barber who is absolutely steering kids there because he is being compensated and that is a fact.

I literally have zero doubt that the barber is being compensated. Is it impossible to report this in any way? How has it gone on this long? Is Saban just that untouchable?

From what I know about Amite; their hated rival is the Independence Tigers who have an identical uniform to the LSU Tigers. Maybe it’s some sort of psychological thing against the whole LSU look.

Amite is definitely LSU country. That one cog in the wheel is the guy Saban hired. I actually played on same flag football team in college with the guy for a few games. Ha ha. Don’t really know him personally tho.

The barber y’all are referring to cut my hair once. While in barber shop, I realized he was a Bama fan and I haven’t been back. True story

He's way too fat for it to be believable. Biology may get rid of fatty before we even come up with an idea to get him thrown in jail

I doubt he's hurting from the lost business. Dudes probably bringing home 150k a year with the Bama plug.
