no way they were going to have 3 sec teams in the playoffs and this was the plan
although the ncaa changed the 3 sec runoff rule in 2017 the sec was told at the beginning of the year they went back to it.
i also dont think they didnt want lsu to end up in nola for the sugar bowl bc all the fans already live here.

I certainly agree LSU was screwed in general. But, had they gotten one more first down? Game over. Nothing the refs could've done about it. Pass the ball from the 5 yd line in OT when you need a TD to win, instead of 3 straight running plays? LSU wins.
