How do you like it? Reviews online were killing it. Metacritic have a 7.5, but the fans have it a 3.6 or something like that.

And modern gaming reviews are on a 7-10 scale.

The weapon balance just feels off. Makes the game frustrating as hell. Plus making the gameplay based on spawns seems stupid since its WW2 and it was a war of attrition.

TL;DR at the bottom.
In a nutshell...its a very nice looking game. Handles well. Never have issues with hit detection. Have not encountered any lag of any kind except for when I accidently joined a Japanese lobby. However there are balancing issues.
The tanks seem underpowered. 1 assault guy can easily take one out between 2 panzerfausts and a stick dynamite. I'm okay with this though, as I could care less for the vehicle warfare and vehicles dominating everything.
Weapon imbalance is my biggest concern.
The assault class has some very powerful automatic rifles, as well as some semi-automatic rifles which are 2-4 shot kills and shoot very quickly and accurately.
Medic class weapons are submachine guns and AWFUL until you lock the Thompson, I've heard. It's level 20 on the medic class so, I've got a while. The first 3 guns are pretty trash. No range, very little accuracy. Don't waste your time ADS with them. Just spray from hip. Oh, and they have just 20-30 round magazines with 600-700 rpm, so you run out of ammo quick. Also, any class can revive fallen squadmates now, but medics do it quicker. Even medics take 2 seconds with an animation to perform a revive now. Lots of death during revives, unless the medic pops a smoke.
Support weapons are currently lasers. The first LMG you have is possibly the best combination of power/accuracy on the whole game, and you can run around with it like it's an AR. Combined with the fact that you never run out of ammo (which is a big deal on this game, get to that later).
Recon has always been my favorite class, but it's tough in this game. Bolts can get a 1 shot kill on headshots at any range and 2 shots to kill to the body at any range. Self Loaders take 2-3 shots to kill, depending on range. Even headshots won't kill a 100 health opponent at any range. Because of the extremely fast time to kill with LMGs or ARs, if you can't headshot moving enemies consistently, give it up...because they will melt you with the AR or LMG from any range after you hit them in the body once.
On another note, I absolutely love some of the new ideas they've brought to the game. Any player spawns in with a heal that they can use on themselves. It replaces a different percentage of health depending on class, but usually around 30%. Medics can throw out unlimited extra heals for other players to carry with them just like support guys can throw out extra ammo. Medics and Support can also set out ammo crates or medical crates, where any teammates can come to resupply ammo or heals.
They have large stationary medical supply areas and ammunition supply crates at each objective. The ammo stations can resupply all explosives, grenades, etc, where ammo given by support players will not. You start with very low ammo, and health does not regenerate on its own, so it's imperative that you stay with your squadmates to drop health and ammo, or you have to stay near the objectives, either attacking or defending, to resupply.
You can now build defensive locations. It may be wood, sandbags, barbed wire, etc. You can't choose what type of defense goes where. You also can't just build anywhere on the map you want to. There are designated locations, usually at objectives and major choke points, where you can build and the type of defense cannot be changed. Takes 4-5 seconds to build each piece, which isn't very big. They can be taken out with a grenade or explosive though. It supports a new style of Battlefield. Instead of just cap, run, cap, run, cap, run, it rewards teams who work as a team to not only attack points, but also defend points that you have. Defenders now have a big advantage. However, most randoms will want to run wild and into every location without checking out, so players who are strategic can have a field day and score lots of points and kills. Squads who work together and talk have HUGE advantages now.
TL;DR: Overall, it's not a perfect game. There are things they need to fix. But I am enjoying this game more than BF1, BF Hardline. It's very close with BF4 to me. Not quite on BF3 of BF2BC level yet....but there is potential for it to get there.

I'd rather play Squad on PC honestly. It's the natural sequel to battlefield 2.
