Eh idk.
I go grocery shopping one day each week and buy enough for the week to meal prep.
I usually get a high protein oatmeal for breakfast each morning which is around $7 for the week
Then for lunch/supper I either get a 5 pound pack of chicken for $10-$12 or a couple pounds of lean ground turkey which is a little more expensive but easier to prep.
In total my 3 meals for each day in a week come out to around $40-$45. Then of course I add snacks like greek yogurt, fruit etc
But compare that to fast food, its really not much more expensive. I got a meal at Sonic last week and it ran me $12 for a combo

I don't believe the cost of food is a factor. I believe some people are just lazy and it's easier to run by McDonalds then it is to buy the stuff to prepare hamburger and french fries for the family at home, and thus you are going to get a less healthy option.

That's $45/21 meals = $2.14 average meal cost.

If that's accurate, that's outstanding. My target is $3.50/meal.
