Are you learning something new? Making yourself more employable? Setting yourself up for the long term.
I often see people get bent out of shape for not being 'promoted' when they're asked to do more and they don't get the title/pay to go along with it. I'm of the mindset that I want to learn everything I can and eventually the pay/title will come. And so far in my career, it has served me well.
I've taken on a lot of extra responsibility in the last 18 months that is no where near my job description and I haven't been compensated for it. But I've learned A LOT more than I anticipated and made professional connections that I wouldn't have otherwise, and think they'll be beneficial for my future.
Do I want more pay and a Director title? Sure. But I'm not getting bent out of shape by it b/c I trust that it'll even out in the end. But I also like my company/bosses and my job so it doesn't bother me as much. I can definitely see your point if your company doesn't appreciate you, or if they have a history of not paying/promoting and just keep adding to your responsibilities.
There's a lot of factors that go into it...just my opinion
