Pretty good post, although most wont tell you that.

As the green light for 3 pointers has turned into the Autobahn, in 10 years or so some really great player is going to pass some of these all time greats and maybe gets thrown into the goat conversation.

Kareem made one 3 pointer in his career.imagine if he came up training for them like today’s bigs. Players 20 seasons. Not in today’s travel friendly sports medicine marvelous world. In the 70s and 80s. Plus 4 years of college.

Point being, inflation exists when it comes to stats, comparing peers is way more accurate than comparing players from different eras.

I love how every thing is considered harder for Kareem, but no one talks about the era. Guys were putting up 50/20 then and it was to be expected. That shite is impossible in today's game. Possessions were through the roof, no one played defense, point totals were higher than they are today, etc.

But yeah, go ahead and give Kareem all the benefits of the doubt.
