Are mainstream sites, with their group think, and heavy handed editorial control better?
The only bureau to get Iraq right was Knight Ridder - the more prestigious news agencies went all in on WMDs.
What was different about KR? They weren’t part of the DC establishment, and when things didn’t make sense, they asked questions, and they weren’t afraid of upsetting people.
Sites like zerohedge are worth reading because they consider forbidden ideas, and express views that are unpopular.
