TJ was a shithole when I went back in the early 90s and that was multiple Mexican recessions and a few cartels ago.

Crossing back into the US, the Customs agent, a Florida Evans look-a-like, established that we were US citizens and then asked why we were in Canada. My friend, who was driving, said "We came over to go to the casino and the strip clubs, but we never left the strip club". Florida smiled and asked if we were bringing anything back from Canada.
