I honestly think a lot of it is rhetoric, not substance.
Trump has stances a lot of those types of people agree with. He needs to sell the message of the policies. He can be strong while not being inflammatory. Promote the message. Don't be inflammatory. Show a bit of compassion and humility (and dare I say, civility). There's a fine line. I think too many GOP before him (McCain, Romney) were weak/passive. I think Trump's too far the other way.
He'll get the rural votes no matter what. I think he needs to do above to get suburban.
