The counter argument is if as a company, if you are dependent on $7/hr labor, then you need to update your processes.

Meaning outsourcing manufacturing/production to China and Taiwan for .25/hr?

The McD's near my house recently installed automated ordering kiosks. So that's an updated process. Now they need the robots so they stop screwing up my order...

Higher wages for unskilled will lead to more automation and therefore more unemployment.
