I think it's not the leaving the state he's referring to as much as the choosing the powerhouse dynasty instead of the underdogs. It's the mindset everyone ridiculed Kevin Durant for when he sold out and joined the Warriors to win some easy championships instead of growing a set and trying to compete against them. The weak-minded "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" thought process. Greatness isn't something you should get because you faxed some papers to the established power on signing day, it should be earned by taking the path less traveled and knocking Goliath out with nothing but a sling shot.
