The problem is that his issues have been going on since the All-Star break. Kimbrel had a 4.57 ERA with a BB/9 over six during the second half of the season. If it's simply a minor mechanical issue, why couldn't they have figured that out last month or two months ago?

My theory is his fastball lost some velocity leading to better contact from hitters. I think his mechanics are breaking down because he is trying to keep his fastball velocity up.

Maybe I'm full of shite, but that's been my thinking. I know his brother. I may try to see what he says if I run into him this weekend.

I agree, he has been awful since the break. I think he is tipping his pitches some kind of way since the batter is never fooled by anything he throws it seems.

It looks like he has so much going on in his motion that you never know when you fix one part and screw up another, but after he comes set its a fairly basic delivery. I always thought he was missing his release until last night.

I really hate his begin, but if he feels comfortable then let him do it.
