I assume you meant "credit card" because I have no clue what a "bevit card" is
I'd rather not give a number, obviously it wasn't a cheap meal. But I think you'd be surprised - it's probably not as expensive as you're thinking it is.
You can of course spend a lot more than we did depending on the wine you order. There were plenty of $5,000+ bottles on the wine list. We went just a tad cheaper than that.

You ate at that restaurant in Alba too, right? I think it's #16 in the world or something like that. We couldn't get in but I did look at the menu and it wasn't that bad. I think the tasting menu was like 225 euro a person or so.

Piazza Duomo - and you're right their current rank is #16.
Yes we ate there as well, and it was a great meal too. But honestly, OF is just on an entirely different level.
They had a number of different tasting menus, and if I recall correctly they ranged anywhere from 240-270 euros/person (without wine pairings, of course)
We actually were lucky enough to meet Chef Enrico too. We were the last table to leave and our server offered to bring us into the kitchen to say hello.
Edit: I'll add my review of Piazza Duomo in my TB thread and not bother anyone on the FDB with it. I just haven't completed the review for the entire trip yet.

just between me and you....it's ok to admit that you were still hungry when you left

A place like that, the first words out of my mouth after leaving would be "what do you want from taco bell?"

Man I could barely walk the 30 second trip back to the AirBnB after that meal because I was so full.
In general, portions were pretty large throughout Italy. I don't understand how Americans have the stereotype of large portions when every lunch I had was 3-4 courses.
But hey, if you're a fatty fatty fat fat who needs a burger after a 12 course meal, I'm not one to judge.

Yep. Individual courses are smaller there but they eat multiple course meals. I lost 4 lbs in Italy eating and drinking whatever I wanted. The difference is that 0% of it was processed food and I didn't snack between meals at all. I also walked a lot.

There’s plenty of places you eat to taste the top shelf food and enjoy the experience over simply getting full. I can get full on all You can eat soup salad and breadsticks at Olive Garden. That doesn’t mean it’s the best Italian experience does it?
Eta: it was a 12 course meal with 2 desserts. How is that not enough food for anyone even if every course was 1-2 bites?

I actually omitted the first aperitif from this meal by accident. Glad you reminded me.

Well then I have some great news for you: no one is forcing you to eat there.
Whew! Bullet dodged!

[link=(I'm about to try to make one of those rye sourdough seed and grain breads which were all over the place.)]LINK[/link]
Those breads are the high point of Nordic cuisine. Chad Robertson's Tartine #3 has some good techniques and recipes for wrangling rye, as does Stanley Ginsberg's The Rye Baker.

Didn't say I wouldn't enjoy it, implied I'd be hungry after.
Thin skin in here.
