Big fella was 11, fought cancer for 5 months. Always happy, always ready to go for a walk right to the end. The last day of his life he struggled down to the end of the driveway with me, probably as a favor to me more than anything else. I sure will miss him.

Lost my 13-year-old buddy in August. Still miss him greatly, but we now have a new little guy that we're already in love with.

Did it blow up? You live in livingston?

Just trying to make you crack a grin, losing your best friend sucks.

Lost mine right before his 10th birthday this summer. I can’t remember a time in my adult life I’ve ever really cried and I bawled when he went down.

Awful man. So sorry for your loss. They are such an incredible breed. He was beyond loyal.

Sorry for your loss brother,
I've got four girls that are getting on up in age. I've been through it before, empathize with your pain, and am not looking forward to the inevitable future.
C.S. Lewis thought God gave us our dogs to be our friends, fools, and court jesters. Remember the good times and this:

Man, that sucks. I'm reluctant to get another dog because it's so damn hard saying goodbye to one.

This is the first time I haven't had a dog since I was a teenager. I know I could easily get attached to another one. Like you I don't know if I have losing another one in me.

Sorry for your loss my friend. Our 11 year old lab passed a few months ago. Never easy.

consider it practice for facing the fact that your entire life is on.loan from divine mystery.

I actually have code I use with my housemate which is derived from when I lost a collie when I was 7. My dad had been drafted to be in Korean war.
I ended up in phillipines. My collie supposedly was staying at a farm way out on long island. 8 and a half now, I'm back on long island. Where's my dog?
The adults who had The assignments were clumsy and I knew..

Now I refer to any "object" or apparent being that dies or is broken or gone somehow as, gone with the collies.

I know a guy who can't throw himself into deep love because she betrayed him decades ago.
