This. I’ve been watching the UFC religiously since UFC 1 and it’s so funny how these “Brock Lesnar era” fans view the UFC. Since Frank Mir (who sucked) was pumped up as some badass in the heavyweight division in order to sell PPV’s with Lesnar, it seems like that’s been the UFC’s go-to strategy ever since. Nate Diaz, who was trash in his division for years, was pumped up as some championship level fighter solely to sell PPV’s and people ate it up and still act like McGregor beating his old drug addict arse was some huge accomplishment.

McGregor would’ve been very meh and lost a lot of fights if he was consistently fighting guys like GSP, BJ Penn, Anthony Johnson, Robbie Lawler, Matt Serra, Matt Hughes, Frank Trigg, etc. in their primes

The UFC just doesn’t have the same talent level as it did back in the mid-2000’s so they resort to over the top WWE level bullshite to promote fights, it’s embarrassing what guys like McGregor and Lesnar are doing to the sport and people are going to get mad over a guy flipping out over him insulting outside factors like religion, family, etc. lol
