86 Miami/PSU game is one of the first big games I remember. Felt like JoePa (was Dusky responsible for that?) just threw a bunch of junk against Vinny and it worked.
Oh, I know all too well about that Washington team, both based on what they did to a very good Michigan team and just being a big fan of them in general due to relatives who went to U-Dub.

Yes but Miami matched up and down then in +20 yd they ran zones that screwed Vinny up
Miami even with 5 into still had chance to win and he threw it to Giftopolous. They ran man 2 which had never been seen really before

This game imo is what ultimately lead to th Bowl Alliance and BCS.
