No it doesn't. Just because you think throwing the ball makes you open recruiting it does not. Problem is nobody runs it anymore at lower levels, so you are not getting the QB play and reps to run it correctly. Everyone is teaching the easy offense and you can be stupid to play QB in a "spread"

If I was Johnson and wanted to keep the option I would scrap the Flexbone and go into a Wing T or I Bone. The motion from that would screw with safeties all day. I mean the Spread is just basically a Single Wing with quick screens.

If you can't find anyone to run your offense, that's a recruiting issue.
