Exactly.

If Grassley would have said if you want to appear, it will be Monday. Period. You also have until Thursday to commit to appearing on Monday, without conditions. Otherwise, we will dispense with the hearing and proceed to the vote. He would have won this.

The problem is, we have very very few real conservative Republicans anyore. Most are more aligned with Liberal positions than conservative ones. They simply run as Republicans because it's more expedient to their careers.
If we had allowed the Tea Party movement to grow and replaced RHINOS with true conservatives, we wouldn't be in this position.
