Does that principal have a right to detain that child? Or prevent that child from calling parents?

According to all the legal precedent I can find? Yes. And not only do they have the right to do that, they are indemnified for any lawsuits concerning it, they do not have to adhere to Miranda, and they can use any information gained as evidence in court.

That is a gross and unquestionable vilaltion of Due Process and how it became precedent is very confusing to me. I will research further.

Best thing to do then in all cases is to tell your child NEVER to talk to administrators or teachers in ANY disciplinary matter under ANY circumstances without a parent present. Period no matter what the school people say.

Treat them like the police. Do not talk to them.

judges hate tossing damning evidence, just like every bastardization of the 4a. and shocking the government would recuse government from liability
