Yes, it was a great team. At an LSU recruiting bash a few years ago I had a long conversation with Coach Brown. He said he thought his best chance to win it all was this team. I always thought it was the 1986 team. I was really impressed with coach Brown. I mean, I'm a nobody and he didn't shun me or act in a condescending manner in the least. We talked for about an hour. I was working in a chemical plant at the time and Harold Boudreaux was working for a contractor in the plant. He was finishing his education at the time, 2001 or 2002, and I asked Harold about coach Browns philosophy on offense. He said the only thing coach Brown ever told them was if you hesitate, don't shoot. Basically coach Brown ran a glorified play ground offense. Ingenious really, when you think about it. I mean, you can't prepare a team to defend an offense when you don't know what they are going to do. You can teach a team to defend the flex, motion etc. But you really can't prepare to defend an offense that has no formal structure, it's playground. Which has it's positives as well as it's negatives. Without structure when guys aren't shooting well there's really nothing to fall back on. That's probably why LSU lost most games when CJ wasn't shooting well. Which didn't happen very often. Anyway, do you know about the basketball teams practice schedule and if some are open to the public? Guess I can call the athletic office. My aunt use to work there a few years ago. She retired in 2007 or 2008. I think it was right after Les won his NC.
