Hes an awesome person and I am clueless about how to approach this.

There is really no way to approach it other than grind through the time left, expect another hit if he gets worse, then grind through that for a couple months or so. Eventually the emotional stranglehold wanes some but the path to there sucks. Your mind will numb some along the way to get you by but as the mental fog fades with time you will have some comfort much more than in the middle but there will be moments where you still struggle some but keep those good memories alive. Stay strong in your faith. Know this is a temporary good bye if it comes to it and honor Ben when you can by acts of kindness in his name.

My mom passed after a five month bout with AML leukemia in 2017... I know so well the emotional turmoil you have working right now but it does let up enough to function fine after a bit with time but I will be in prayer for you and the whole situation my friend!
