re: What were you doing on 9/11?

Lived in Manhattan and was attending school on the upper east side (P.S. 8). I was in 4th grade and remember clear as day a few kids just randomly got picked up from school.. phone call came to my teacher and she started panicking and put us under our desks. we were all scared and within 10 minutes of her crying and many kids scared, my mother picked me up. she held onto me for dear life. we walked home to 88th street and told me not to look back, but I remember obviously looking back and seeing just smoke in the sky. I couldn't actually see the twin towers. I got home and my parents were nervous and my mom crying and as sad as this sounds, I was cheering because we had no school. I legit did not understand the concept of terrorists. Scary time in my life.
