It's a good argument though.
70's has a lot of seeds in late 60's that germinated in the 70's.
Star Trek reruns started the 70's. End of the decade brings us Star Wars, Dawn of the Dead, Mad Max.
Sci-fi literature was very dystopian but still reaching for the stars. Known Space as a setting had been set. Sci-fi as a way to discuss politics and environmentalism was fully affirmed.
Thee 70's was more a capstone where the immature 50's mad science and thoughtful 60's reflection came together.
