Reddit loves shitting all over Michael Bradley, it’s their schtick. Regardless, the guy will go down as one of the best midfielders we have ever had. He hit his prime around 26 and sadly went down hill since then. I think it was a combo of running his arse off continuously since the age of 16 and also a lack of form with moving back to MLS. That said, I want someone who leads with authority in the lockerroom. It’s actually a desired trait in a captain, and I’m not sure why Conrad (who I admire tbh) can’t see that. I still think Bradley deserves a place in the locker room, because at this point he is still one of our better midfielders and can provide veteran leadership to the kids on the team. Hopefully we have several of the young guns step up and lead by command or by example, because we certainly had a paucity of this in Bradley’s group (and really the current crop of 24-32, Will Trapp excluded), which combined with a dearth of talent and terrible coaching played a big part in our qualification failure.

I will always remember him as the captain of one of the biggest failures of the USMNT in my lifetime. Michael Bradley TYFYS...now frick off.
