Financing a vehicle depends on the rate and term and that's it. Working, not working, etc doesn't affect the decision to finance or not finance. Now, not purchasing the car altogether is an option, once you've decided to purchase, financing often makes far more sense.

Dave Ramsey and I disagree. I don’t believe in financing anything that typically depreciates in value, and I don’t want a financier dictating the amount of a deductible on my insurance. Furthermore, I can opt out of comp and collision insurance as I see fit.
