This is a fair point. Teenagers in today's societies aren't as mature as in the past because a lot less is expected of them.
People grew up much faster when the world was a bit harsher. Childhood lasts a long longer now.

Hence why we have statuary rape laws and why teachers routinely get arrested for sleeping with teenage students even if they're 18.
Rape isn't solely limited to violence. It can be done through drugs, alcohol or the physiological practice of grooming which induces eventual submission.
