That's such a false narrative. He had a great opportunity as a RS fresh to see meaningful snaps at lsu, and prove himself. More I think about it, he has some issues he needs to overcome.

He is a freaking red shirt freshman. Burrow, then Brennan, then Narcisse, man up while the next guy prepares. When your time comes for the big stage, use the time and effort invested to rock it out and prove yourself ready for the big show of the NFL.

Successful quarterbacks and programs have done this for decades. Now red shirt freshmen are bailing because they're not starting. Last I checked you don't want to rely on that young a player to start at qb.

He has a pride issue he needs to overcome. Not the good pride, but the bad kind. The more I think about this, the more I get the feeling that his family was in his ear telling him he's better than having to work his way up. At just a redshirt freshman he was just expecting to be given the job due to ego. It didn't help that people close to him were giving him bad advice. Now he's going to play against bad competition, and then have to transfer again and still have to earn the starting spot. It's stupid!

Exactly.
Many great QBs began their career as situational. Look at Tebow and Dak

Big mistake imo. Many situational qbs that see the field do well when a team is struggling and ends up the man. Only way to prove himself is on the field. If he lights it up n wildcat eventually defenses will load up and he will get a shot to throw some. Who knows what happens if he gets hot. As a RS fr qb n sec that was certain to see the field imo he was n a great spot
