Other schools have programs in place for incentivizing people going into primary care fields.
LSU NOLA did (or still does?). Was an agreement to enter into a primary care field for X amount of years in the rural areas of the state. Not sure if it made too much a difference in terms of people who chose to go into primary care fields or not. I only knew a few people who did it in my class when it was available.
I imagine NYU med students being highly motivated in general and that often drives people to want to seek the more prestigious sub-specialty fields regardless. So I'd be interested to see if this make much of a difference at all.
