As far as stunts go... The Road Warrior frick up is maybe the craziest ever caught in modern film:
The stuntman's legs were not supposed to catch on the car. That's not some crazy wire work... That's flipping actually happened and damn near killed the guy.
Miller left it in the movie because it's so unbeleivebale. It almost looks fake it's so insane.
The motorcycle stunt from Thx 1138 is right there, too.. Stuntman came in way too hot on the crash and then this happened:
