the cop who killed Sterling (Blane Salamoni) was fired for violating the BRPD "use of force" policy, after "escalating the deadly encounter from the moment he arrived at the convenience store."

the bodycam footage shows the first officer, Howie Lake, walk up to Sterling and tell him to put his hands on the car, which is fine.

then, less than 6 seconds after this began, with no explanation from anyone as to why the police were there or what they wanted with Sterling, Salamoni takes his gun out, points it at Sterlings head and threatens to kill him

Salamoni at 0:08 - "Don't move bra, stop."

Sterling at 0:10 - "What I did? Sir, what I did, sir?"

Salamoni at 0:14 - "Don't fricking move..."

Salamoni now has his gun out, level on Sterlings head. He starts screaming.

Salamoni at 0:15 - "...I'll shoot your fricking (unintelligible), put your fricking hands on the car. Put your hands on the car, Im'a shoot you in your fricking head, you understand me. Don't you fricking more or Im'a shoot you in your fricking head, you hear me? DON'T YOU frickING MOVE!"

Sterling at 0:28 - "Alright, hold up, hold up man, you're hurting my arm. I'm serious, what happened man?"

Sterling still has no idea whats happening, all he knows is that two cops walked up behind him in the dark 30 seconds ago, put a gun to his head and threatened to kill him.

He was outside this store selling CDs, something he had done for 6 years, with the owners permission.

Yes he apparently had a gun in his pocket. So what. Louisiana is an open carry state, thats perfectly legal, and theres no evidence it ever left his pocket. store video and the store owner back that up.

less than a minute later he was dead.
