Well I think the difference would be A) it wasn’t a mistake. He gifted it to you. B) Handing someone cash is a lot less traceable and harder to prove unless you ran to the bank and deposited it.

Fwiw, if the bank gives you too much cash in the drive through or lobby, you could still be criminally charged if you didn't return it.

A bank doing it and a private individual doing it are two completely separate situations. Pride's example is dumb.
