His term is until January when the winner of the November election is sworn in.
Considering what's on the House plate between now and then and the current makeup of the House, this is a giant nothing burger.

Mostly true.
It does give whoever wins a minor "incumbent" advantage in November.
Undecideds often just vote for the incumbent by default (they are listed on the ballot as such), which is part of why it's harder to unseat an incumbent.
