ESPN has won the rights to Serie A.

For the 2018-19 season, there will be 340 matches on ESPN+, with one match per week (nearly 40 total) on ESPN or ESPN2

Is it? You get USL, MLS, Championship, Serie A, FA Cup (I think), etc. And that's just live soccer.

It is because you already have to pay extra for espn and now they want you to pay more for stuff that you already pay extra for.

You are looking through the eyes of espn.

I am looking through the eyes of the consumer.

You pay extra for espn on cable/satellite/streaming services so why does espn want to charge extra when you already pay extra? They decide what goes on espn+, what happens if they decided to just switch all the good stuff to espn+? Kind of how I feel with the mls stuff, sure I can watch crsppy usl on espn2, but I have to pay extra to watch the mls games on espn+. Screw the mls for making that deal.

No, but compare it to other sports.

You get all the bigtime college football games on espn/espn2/espn2/espnnews.

Why couldnt they air 2 mls games and then put the rest on those extra channels when there are multiple games at the same time?

Because they want to increase Disney's share price, not just give away content

Their rights deals around college football are different by orders of magnitude in dollars, ratings, etc.
