lol. 99.9% of people could not swim a mile in 35 minutes. Even someone in great running shape. You'd have to take a bunch of breaks and what not. Plus open water swimming, not to mention with clothes on, is completely different. I mean I think most would take their clothes off first, but it still open water and without goggles. Not to mention who knows what the wind, waves, and current were doing.

My biggest question is how did they get separated?

Even IF they went swimming, how freaking drunk and stupid do you have to be to swim off a boat this in not anchored? I understand anchors break break, but with an anchor out unless the depth changed rapidly they should have been able to catch the boat.

The absolute hardest part of Navy boot camp was the initial swim, not float and chill, swim

If you are a trained swimmer which people are claiming she was swimming a mile in 35 minutes would easy for her. She must have been super hammered to not be able to swim that far
