Dead Cells - Anyone else getting it?

Anyone else picking this up? It's been in early access for a while now but officially releases tomorrow. I plan on buying it for Switch, since it seems like the perfect game for it. I feel like it might scratch a similar itch as Hollow Knight and its art style and setting definitely give me a "Symphony of the Night" vibe.
It's "Rogue-lite" Metroidvania, similar to Rogue Legacy, for anyone familiar with that. Randomly generated dungeons with permadeath, though you get to keep some of your upgrades for future runs as you play.

Thinking about getting it for the switch. It's just hard to get any of these other games at certain prices after Hollow Knight's price announcement. Even though it's on sale. You just don't get that kind of deal for your money and I don't know how long the story to the game is either.

Heard good things about it, but I was going to wait for a sale.

I've been craving a new Castlevania game and I'm hoping Dead Cells fits that somewhat. I haven't been terribly impressed by what I've seen of Bloodstained from an art style and combat perspective. It looks so bland, slow, and sterile compared to Dead Cells (or even SOTN).

Really discounted? $15.00?
That’s like humble bundle type status.

quote:x 2 = $30.00. I've already bought it on Steam and played through a good chunk of it. So I get to buy it again and play through it again, which I did too recently. It wouldn't surprise me if I eventually pick it up on Switch, but not right now.
$15.00?
Also, I didn't love it as much as everyone else seems to. I liked it. If I return to it, however, I hope I fall in love with it like everyone else has.

I put in about 15 hours on Steam and got it preordered on PS4. It’s such a good game that I can’t wait to play the final build tomorrow. Also big fan of the developer’s organization and salary structure!

Yeah this game is pretty damn awesome, combat is a lot more satisfying than Hollow Knight and progression is better. Picked it up of cdkeys and it was totally worth it.

quote:The combat is really fun so far. It just feels right. I played a bit during my lunch break and died to an elite enemy on my first run. On my current run, my 1st main weapon is a sword that does double damage to enemies that are on fire and my 2nd main weapon is a fire bomb.

It's been awesome setting a bunch of enemies on fire and then rolling in to wreck all of them with just a couple of attacks.
It seems to run fine on Switch, though I've noticed a few hitches and / or frame drops here and there. Not enough to really annoy me but something to keep in mind for anyone sensitive to that sort of thing.
