I mostly use either the triangular 2 oz. weights or the round ones with the hole through the middle in the same weight.

The amount of weight really depends on the speed of the current. Sometimes I need 3 oz. weights to work for me.

I tie the weight on the end of the line, go up about 3 ft. and tie off a loop about 1 ft. long and slip in my hook and fish tight line. I've been using #3 and #6 hooks, fishing with worms, dead shrimp and bait balls.
