One thing I watch all the time, and I shared it with my dad once, is the Jimmy V Speech from the ESPY's. It is so powerful and it has helped me a lot. I can't speak for what it did for my dad but I will say he and I didn't leave anything unsaid or undone.
I hope it is inspirational for you as well. One of the main messages I always take from it is to never give up and I hope you get the same from it and fight like hell.

I hope on your dads birthday you have reached the point you can think of him and smile. I am sure there will be some tears but like Jimmy V said you have to be able to laugh every day.
