This is probably a dumb question. When I see side pics of GSD's their hips always seem to be lower than they should. Why do they stand like this? I'm used to Labs and their back is basically parallel to the ground. Here are some examples.

It seems there are some guys in here with a lot more knowledge than me. Maybe they can chime in. It’s in the standard for the breed. It will be more pronounced in “show quality” dogs.
