not sure on the first lite but looks like a Sitka-Esque type gear. I am sure it’s good but probably some other great options as well.
I use for mostly backpacking
I wear strictly wool socks hiking and daily and wear multiple times before washing. Darn tough or smart wool. For base layers I have under Armour, Patagonia and smart wool. The smart wool is the softest but my Patagonia and under Armour are the warmest for the same level. I have a set of UA 4.0 that are just too damn hot. Use only on cold nights in the hammock. The poly stuff hold more odor imo.
As far as socks. I shop the closeouts. Backpacking.com, rei, etc.... can usually get pairs for under $10 if you don’t care what they look like.
