He's gotten the squad to a point where he can target specific and clear upgrades on need positions... And are revenue is at a point where we can afford to do this... hopefully, the scatter shot approach to player recruitment is over..

Gianluigi Buffon was bought by Juventus in 2001 for 52M euro. At that time, that was equal to 46.8M dollars.

I'm not surprised, due to player inflation and huge TV contracts for leagues, that Liverpool had to pay an 18M premium in 2018 over that of a comparable transfer in 2001.
